You can register for all the sessions or one or two if you like. All you need to do is determine a 90-minute time period that is convenient for you to view a session. When ready, click on "Register" above for a session you would like to enroll in. A new browser window will open that will take you directly to that session's registration page in WebEx. Once you have completed a session registration the presentation will begin so please be sure to pick a 90-minute time period that is convenient for you!
Once you have completed a session you can register for more sessions by following the same process.
Upon request, certificates will be granted upon completion of each session. This includes completion of the post-test and evaluation. AFCPE will award 1.5 CEUs for each session completed. For other organizations, please verify with them to see if they will award CEU credits for your participation.
Payment
You must pay for each session with a credit card. Visa, Master Card and American Express are all accepted. Payment is processed during registration for each module and due at the time of registration.

Financing a College Education: Coaching Your Clients Through the Maze

Do you feel as though college financial aid is complex? Not after this session! You'll be able to communicate with confidence when discussing college financial aid with your clients.
Maybe it appears easy – you fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and wait for a decision. But beyond the application, what happens in the financial aid office that impacts the aid a student can receive from federal funding sources? Find out what the definition of a “budget” is in the student loan world and how the EFC (expected family contribution) affects the awarding of all types of financial aid, including loans.

Anne Barton is a Regional Director for Business Development with NSLP. She is an Accredited Financial Counselor who has worked for 25 years in the financial aid industry prior to coming to work at NSLP. She has served as President of the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association and has received numerous awards and recognition from her colleagues. Anne earned her AFC in August of 2008. Since then she has had articles published in “Next Step Magazine”, a publication for high school students and is currently working on a series of five financial literacy articles for upcoming issues of this publication. Anne is dedicated to the advancement of financial literacy among our nation’s young people.

Student Loans Repayment Solutions: Keeping your Clients Out of Default

Learn how to assist your clients by understanding the various repayment plans available to student loan borrowers as well as options available to keep a loan out of default. Although student loans are not negotiable and cannot be part of a debt management/repayment plan, many options exist to help reduce monthly payments which in turn will help your client meet other obligations. This session will arm you with the information you need to develop a plan that is truly beneficial to your client’s financial future.

• Identify the differences in repayment options
• Evaluate repayment plans to provide best solution to client
• Communicate consequences of default to clients
• Describe ways to resolve delinquency and default

Robyn LeGrand is a Regional Director for NSLP Business Development. She works with students, schools and lenders within the state of Missouri. Having worked for a large lender as well as a secondary market, Robyn’s program knowledge is extensive. Throughout Robyn's 20 year career in student lending, she has served on a variety of state, regional and national committees including the Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, Student Loan Servicing Alliance and the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs. Additionally, Robyn is an Accredited Financial Counselor through the Association of Financial Counseling and Planning Education.

Choosing the Right Repayment Plan featuring Income-Based Repayment
Description:
You know there are several repayment options available, but how do you determine which one is best for your client’s situation? This session will take you far beyond the basics and into practical application. We will review case studies and walk you through the process of selecting a repayment plan to accommodate your client’s unique situation. We will also provide a thorough review of the new income-based repayment plan which is expected to help many borrowers who are struggling to repay their student loans.

Student Loan Default—Now What?
Description:
Once a loan defaults, does the borrower have any options? YES! This session will arm you with the knowledge needed to assist you clients who have defaulted on their student loans. Learn how to identify where your client is in the default process, how to avoid wage garnishment and what to do to get out of default. We will wrap up with loan discharge qualifications.
