Notice of privacy policy
At NSLP, maintaining the trust and confidence of the borrowers we serve is a high priority. That's why we want you to understand how we protect your privacy when we collect and use information about you. We respect your right to privacy and recognize our obligation to keep information about you secure and confidential. We do not sell or share information about you with outside marketers or other companies which may then try to sell their products or services to you.
Federal legislation requires us to provide information about our privacy policy. Our policy is to protect your "nonpublic, personal information." This means personal information about you which identifies you, and is not available from public sources. Throughout this Privacy Policy, we will refer to your nonpublic, personal information as "Borrower Information."
- We collect Borrower
Information about you from the following sources:
Information we receive from you on the loan application, promissory notes, correspondence, communications and other forms;
Information about your transactions with us or others with respect to your student loan (from parties such as your lender(s) and the U.S. Department of Education and their agents);
Information received from schools you attend or formerly attended, or to which you have applied for admission; and Information received from credit reporting agencies.
- We do not disclose any
Borrower Information about you or our other current or former
customers to anyone, except as permitted by law. For example, we do
share certain Borrower Information with our contractors and agents,
and to schools, lenders and the U.S. Department of Education, since
the sharing of such information is generally necessary to
administer your loan in conformity with the law.
- We restrict access to Borrower Information about you to our employees who need to know the information, and to our contractors and agents, in order to provide service to you, such as servicing and collecting your student loan. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in compliance with federal regulations to safeguard your Borrower Information.
